Tools Documentation

Guides for every Geometry Labs tool. Each tool is also available programmatically through the API. See the endpoint reference for the corresponding request.

Geometry Labs is organized into six tool categories. Click a category for a detailed guide on its tools, supported formats, and parameters.

Converters

Convert between 3D file formats: OBJ, FBX, GLTF, GLB, STL, DAE, PLY, STEP, IGES, 3DS, USD, USDZ, and BLEND.

How tools work

Most tools follow one of two patterns, which matters when you use them via the API:

  • Synchronous tools (mesh, HDRI, textures, UV, colors) accept a file or parameters and return the result directly in the response.
  • Asynchronous conversion (converters) returns a 202 Accepted response with a job id. Poll GET /api/converter/status/:id until the job is completed, then download the result.
Paid features

Some tools require an account and are counted against your daily quota. Free accounts get 3 conversions and 5 premium tool operations per day. Pro and Team plans are effectively unlimited. See Rate Limits & Quotas.
