API Terms of Use

Terms governing access to and use of the Geometry Labs public API. Effective as of the date shown at the end of this page.

1. Acceptance

By creating an API key or making requests to the Geometry Labs API, you agree to these Terms of Use and to the Geometry Labs Terms of Service and Privacy Policy that govern the main website. If you do not agree, do not use the API.

2. Eligibility & access

API access is included with the Pro and Team plans. Free and Basic plans do not include API access. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with these terms and with any applicable law.

3. API credentials

  • API keys are secret credentials. Store them securely and never expose them in client-side code, public repositories, or shared logs.
  • You are responsible for all activity performed with your keys, including keys used by your team members.
  • Keys can be revoked at any time from the dashboard or the API. Revocation is immediate.
  • You may scope keys to specific resources (converter, mesh, hdri, etc.). Scoped keys cannot access resources outside their scope.
  • Geometry Labs may revoke keys that are compromised, abusive, or used in violation of these terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload or process content that is unlawful, infringing, or malicious (including malware, exploits, or other harmful code).
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or authentication controls.
  • Scrape, mirror, or redistribute the API as a competing service without written permission.
  • Resell API access or credentials to third parties (resale requires a separate written agreement).
  • Interfere with the availability or security of the service, including denial-of-service or credential-stuffing attempts.

5. Data & retention

  • Files uploaded for conversion are processed temporarily and stored in object storage (Cloudflare R2) for up to 1 hour, after which they are automatically deleted.
  • Download URLs are signed and expire shortly after issuance.
  • Request metadata (account, IP address, tool, format, file size, status) is retained for billing, abuse prevention, and analytics in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
  • You represent that you have the right to process any content you upload, including necessary licenses and consents.

6. Quotas & fair use

Pro and Team plans are described as "effectively unlimited" for daily conversions and premium operations. This is not a license for unlimited infrastructure consumption. Geometry Labs may throttle or suspend accounts whose usage is sustained, automated, or otherwise disproportionate to normal human use of the toolset, in addition to the published per-minute rate limits.

7. Disclaimer & liability

The API is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Geometry Labs does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and is not liable for lost data, lost files, or indirect damages arising from use of the API. Your sole remedy for a failed conversion is to retry it.

8. Changes & termination

  • Geometry Labs may modify these terms and will post the updated version on this page.
  • The API is versioned. Breaking changes are released as a new version (for example /api/v2); current versions remain available for a deprecation window of at least 6 months.
  • Geometry Labs may suspend or terminate API access for violation of these terms or for non-payment of the underlying subscription.
